55:1 "Come, everyone who thirsts,
come to the waters;
and he who has no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk

6:1We then, [as] workers together [with him], beseech [you] also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
6:1 Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain.
6:1And working together also we call upon [you] that ye receive not in vain the grace of God --
6:1συνεργουντες δε και παρακαλουμεν μη εις κενον την χαριν του θεου δεξασθαι υμας
2(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now [is] the accepted time; behold, now [is] the day of salvation.)
6:2 For he says,

"In a favorable time I listened to you,
and in a day of salvation I have helped you."


Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
6:2for He saith, `In an acceptable time I did hear thee, and in a day of salvation I did help thee, lo, now [is] a well-accepted time; lo, now, a day of salvation,` --
6:2λεγει γαρ καιρω δεκτω επηκουσα σου και εν ημερα σωτηριας εβοηθησα σοι ιδου νυν καιρος ευπροσδεκτος ιδου νυν ημερα σωτηριας
3Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:
6:3 We put no obstacle in anyone's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry,
6:3in nothing giving any cause of offence, that the ministration may be not blamed,
6:3μηδεμιαν εν μηδενι διδοντες προσκοπην ινα μη μωμηθη η διακονια
4But in all [things] approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,
6:4 but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities,
6:4but in everything recommending ourselves as God`s ministrants; in much patience, in tribulations, in necessities, in distresses,
6:4αλλ εν παντι συνιστωντες εαυτους ως θεου διακονοι εν υπομονη πολλη εν θλιψεσιν εν αναγκαις εν στενοχωριαις
5In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;
6:5 beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger;

6By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,
6:6 by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love;

7By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,
6:7 by truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left;

8By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and [yet] true;
6:8 through honor and dishonor, through slander and praise. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true;

6:9ως αγνοουμενοι και επιγινωσκομενοι ως αποθνησκοντες και ιδου ζωμεν ως παιδευομενοι και μη θανατουμενοι
10As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and [yet] possessing all things.

11O [ye] Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged.
6:11 We have spoken freely to you,f19 Corinthians; our heart is wide open.
6:11Our mouth hath been open unto you, O Corinthians, our heart hath been enlarged!
6:11το στομα ημων ανεωγεν προς υμας κορινθιοι η καρδια ημων πεπλατυνται
12Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels.
6:12 You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted in your own affections.

6:12ου στενοχωρεισθε εν ημιν στενοχωρεισθε δε εν τοις σπλαγχνοις υμων
13Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto [my] children,) be ye also enlarged.

6:13την δε αυτην αντιμισθιαν ως τεκνοις λεγω πλατυνθητε και υμεις
14Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
6:14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?
6:14Become not yoked with others -- unbelievers, for what partaking [is there] to righteousness and lawlessness?
6:14μη γινεσθε ετεροζυγουντες απιστοις τις γαρ μετοχη δικαιοσυνη και ανομια τις δε κοινωνια φωτι προς σκοτος
15And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
6:15 What accord has Christ with Belial?f20 Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever?
6:15and what fellowship to light with darkness? and what concord to Christ with Belial? or what part to a believer with an unbeliever?
6:15τις δε συμφωνησις χριστω προς βελιαρ η τις μερις πιστω μετα απιστου
16And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
6:16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said,

"I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.
6:16and what agreement to the sanctuary of God with idols? for ye are a sanctuary of the living God, according as God said -- `I will dwell in them, and will walk among [them], and I will be their God, and they shall be My people,
6:16τις δε συγκαταθεσις ναω θεου μετα ειδωλων υμεις γαρ ναος θεου εστε ζωντος καθως ειπεν ο θεος οτι ενοικησω εν αυτοις και εμπεριπατησω και εσομαι αυτων θεος και αυτοι εσονται μοι λαος
17Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you,
6:17 Therefore go out from their midst,
and be separate from them, says the Lord,
and touch no unclean thing;
then I will welcome you,
6:17wherefore, come ye forth out of the midst of them, and be separated, saith the Lord, and an unclean thing do not touch, and I -- I will receive you,
6:17διο εξελθετε εκ μεσου αυτων και αφορισθητε λεγει κυριος και ακαθαρτου μη απτεσθε καγω εισδεξομαι υμας
18And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
6:18 and I will be a father to you,
and you shall be sons and daughters to me,
says the Lord Almighty."

6:18and I will be to you for a Father, and ye -- ye shall be to Me for sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.`
